He sure was. I'm currently working on a short story about a chap, you may have heard of Major Philip H.B. Pritchard OAM who served in Vietnam as a company commander with 8RAR. As a young man, he served with No. 6 Commando in NWE, then commissioned in the Royal Artillery TA before emigrating to Australia in 1952. A friend of mine served with him in SVN, thus the inspiration.

I’ve never come across him Cam, so looking forward to reading about him. Will you publish it on here or elsewhere?

I’ve also checked the Commando Veterans Archive and don’t see him listed in their A to Z so I’m sure they would be interested in him as well.

I found a great photo on him in SVN on operations and using his old Commando bergen. I'll get it written up over the next few weeks.
