Lieutenant Colonel Blair ‘Paddy’ Mayne DSO and 3 Bars, of 1 Special Air Service (SAS) Regiment, was a courageous and brilliant special forces soldier, and one of the most outstanding leaders of the Second World War.
A brilliant read Ian. I can recall as a young soldier reading 'Rogue Warrior of the SAS' which was my first introduction to Paddy Mayne. That book was passed around battalion as a must read - pre digital days back then.
Thanks Cam, yes I’ve read it too. My favourite is “Paddy Mayne” written by Hamish Ross (2003) which has been endorsed by the family and recently re-released.

Paddy should have been awarded the VC.
